New quilt - Finished

I finished this quilt this morning 12 /31/2012.   It is for Amy Boyd Wyman's baby who was born earlier this year.

I have worked most of the day on this quilt top, it's finished.   I started it yesterday, see below:

These are the arrow points for the "On the Go" quilt I started today.   All the fabric for the top and back is cut.   I made both the small and large arrow points today.  I can tell it's been a while since I sat behind the sewing machine, my shoulders ache.

CCQC Retreat

The annual CCQC Retreat will be here in no time at all. I have been busy working on Miss Lilly's birthday present which I will have to borrow back to take to retreat as my show and tell.  I have been working on things for retreat as well.

Living Room - Jamie

I have been busy working on curtains for my daughter Jamie.   She and I went to a fabric warehouse sale near Anderson,SC  she picked out fabrics and I was given my assignments.  Mom make curtains for my LR, DR, Breakfast nook, Kitchen and Laundry room.   Here are what the LR panels look like, after barely getting started she decided she wanted them lined.  She is going for a beachy feel to her LR. so these are a linen fabric.  She may do some additional embellishment once she hangs them.  Sure hopes she likes them, since I made 4 of them.  Going to call her to tell her she needs to finish painting and get the curtain rod hung, now that the curtains are done.

Rainbow Afghan

I was so touched by this gift.  My friend Sherri Wigger is most recently into making rainbow afghans.  She is incredibly talented and a wonderful teacher. Anyone who can teach an old / left handed person how to crochet is amazing.  Back to the story, so we arrive for the Sunday Busy Bee, we always start with show and tell.  Sherri pulls out 4 afghans and tells me I get to pick the one I would like to have. They were all so beautiful it was hard to choose.   This is the one I selected.  Isn't is great?!   It big enough to snuggle under with hubby on chilly nights.

UFO Quilt Challenge 2012

I accepted a UFO quilt challenge where we sent in a list of 10 projects. Kathy who is coordinating picks a number from 1 - 10 and everybody works on their project with that number. She picked #6. I have all month to work on it, no requirements to finish just to make progress .

My #6 is a purple flower quilt for grand girl#3 Lilly! This week I had to get 1 yard of white for the sashing in the pattern. Today I cut all the fabrics for the top and I have 3 rows sewn. I am still working on it but need to take a break, so I am posting about it. At the end of today I will post pictures of what I got done.

I did a couple more rows so here is what I have done so far.

Let it be said "Quilters are a bit touched"

Quilting retreat in 2 days.
I have been anticipating this trip since March. I am excited and nervous. I have fabric for all the"projects" & a few personal projects. I have pack & repacked. I have decided that all of these friends I am about to meet for the first time are "tocuhed" just a little, just like me. We are all checking our clothes & hand carrying our fabric on the planes. 3 glorious days in the NE, 30's overnight and 50's during the day. Carla one of the ladies said in a recent email: " We quilters are such a tactile bunch!" & Sue wrote: Getting very excited here in New Jersey!!! Don’t forget to bring comfy PJs, bathrobe, and slippers....nothing like being cozy and warm while sewing in the wee hours of the morning and late at night!! I believe I am in for a wonderful time...
